At Televisa Tijuana's Channel 12, our mission is to meet the region's entertainment and information needs through a comprehensive and effective communication platform.
XEWT-TDT, virtual channel 12, informally called "Tu Canal", is a television station owned and operated by Televisa located in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. XEWT's over-the-air signal also covers the San Diego, California area across the international border into the United States. The XEWT transmitter is located on Monte San Antonio in Tijuana, with a San Diego office on Third Avenue in Chula Vista.
Although its call appears to indicate that it is an XEW-TDT repeater in Mexico City, XEWT broadcasts a selection of programs from all four Televisa networks. It also broadcasts local news and programs targeting Hispanics on both sides of the border.
As Televisa's local station in Tijuana, XEWT produces local programs during the day and night. During the afternoons and evenings, the station simultaneously broadcasts Televisa's national network, Las Estrellas, dedicated to soap operas, game shows, comedies and sports. _0_ Las Estrellas can also be seen on XEWT's sister station XHUAA-DTT, which is the network's repeater station in Tijuana.
There are several interesting time overlaps between XEWT and Univision's San Diego affiliate KBNT-CD. While both are competitors in the San Diego/Tijuana market, they both have the same schedule. Univision carries some Televisa programming in its programming and this is reflected in KBNT programming.
